Reading

Question:  What is one thing you love to do Clarissa?”

Answer:  I love to read.  I love quiet time to relax and read.  My life is so busy, and time is short.  I have thousands of books in my library, I just need to get around to reading them, Lol.  Thanks for that question John!

Forgiveness

What is one you would tell your family members of aging parents to do before his or her loved one dies?

Answer:  Forgive, no matter what.  Just forgive.  Just love.  I know it is difficult sometimes.  I have been there done that and have learned many lessons on dealing with family members, especially older people.

Relaxation

Question:  I am a home health aide.  I go to about four to five homes every day.  At the end of the day I am so tired.  Can you give me some rest tips?

Answer:  Calm yourself on your way home.  Remember nothing can replace a hot bath.  Quiet music.  Wind down.  Pray and thank God for another great day.  Stay positive.  Respite is so important every day.  Take care of yourself so that you can care for others.  Remember that!

On Vacation

Guess what?  I am taking a vacation this week.  I am practicing respite.  I am practicing what I preach.  I am not sure I am going any place, I just need the rest.  Yeah to me!!  Now I want you to do the same, okay?

Driver Safety

Hello my readers!  I am taking a driving safety course online!  I am a great driver and stumbled across a very good course.  Even if your record is perfect like mine, you still need to stay sharp on the road.  If you are a caregiver, don’t forget that AAA has refresher video courses. Take a look at my video on driver safety with Mr. Ingram.  If you drive your clients around, you need to be sure to follow rules accordingly.  Be safe!

Keeping Cool!

Caregivers, don’t forget it is hot!  Make sure your parents have adequate air conditioning, fans, and ventilation safely.  Go to my show about electrical cords and home safety for more information.  Be safe!
